Company Description
Elevate Dance Company, LLC is a dance organization located in Stockton, CA, focusing on empowering dancers with skills and experiences from childhood training to professional mentorship. The organization offers three divisions: Elevate Dance Company for studio, competition and concert dance training, Elevate Dance Conservatory for mentorships and career placement, and Elevate Dance Apparel for body positive dance wear.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for at least one quarter (est. 3 months) for a Professional Dance Company Residency at Elevate Dance Company, LLC in Stockton, CA. This residency will provide a space for a new and upcoming professional dance company that needs to get started and devote time to developing their company in an environment with no distractions and built-in resources to help strategically grow the company.
CURRENT SPACE: 3 Dance studio spaces = 5300 sq feet of dance space
Residency Requirements
Duration: minimum one quarter (3 months)
Access to studio time anytime during the day (currently we only have two classes during the day since most kids are in school)
Access to open time slots in the evening - depending on availability, we do have evening rentals for pop-ups and guest dance companies
Significant discounts on apparel for costumes and/or dance wear
Collaborates with Elevate Dance Conservatory & provides mentorship classes with both trainee and professional company
Elevate to provide finances to end of residency performance.
Creates an end-of-residency performance or project that casts the Conservatory. The Youth Conservatory and trainee students must have the opportunity to audition.
Assistance and negotiation for housing for company dancers (avg. rent $500-$900 per dancer a month - company dancers responsible for rent)
4-6 weekly mentorship classes for professional conservatory & trainees (artistic direction, production planning, dance training, etc.)
Company Dancers have the opportunity to book private lessons and/or choreography sessions with Elevate dancers to earn some extra revenue.
Collaboration w/ Elevate's Marketing and Media team for promotion

The company offers childhood dance training to professional mentorship across three divisions: Elevate Dance Company for studio/dance competition training, Elevate Dance Conservatory for mentorships and career placement, and Elevate Dance Apparel for body positive dance wear. We believe in providing encouragement, inspiration, and valuable training to support our community.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Dance Educator at Elevate Dance Company, LLC located in Stockton, CA. Open to a minimum of 10-month commitment or longer. The Dance Educator will be responsible for dance instruction, dance education, teaching dance contemporary, modern and jazz techniques and fostering a creative and supportive learning environment. We are also flexible with educators /instructors that have professional and/or other dance commitments and open to work with the right person.
Ideally looking for availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Qualifications
5+ years of Dance Instruction and Dance Education skills
Experience in teaching multiple dance disciplines
Strong background in dance, dance history and music
Passion and experience for educating and mentoring dancers of all ages and from diverse communities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
Certifications in dance education or related field is a plus
Experience in choreography and performance
Compensation range: Depending on experience.
